Where the water goes
Grade and drainage come first, before a single plant is chosen. Building a beautiful yard on top of a drainage problem means digging it up again in three years.

Custom landscape design in Oakville and Burlington: gardens, patios and planting planned together, then installed.
We walk the whole property with you and price the plan element by element.
What we design around
A good design is not a nice drawing. It is a set of correct answers to the constraints your property already has.

Grade and drainage come first, before a single plant is chosen. Building a beautiful yard on top of a drainage problem means digging it up again in three years.
The same bed can be full sun in June and deep shade in September. We track how light moves across your property before committing to a planting plan.
Whether you entertain twelve people or want somewhere quiet with a coffee changes the layout completely. Kids and dogs change it again.
You will look at this yard from your kitchen window far more often than you will stand in it. The view from indoors is a design input most plans ignore.
Zone 5b to 6a with heavy clay and road salt. Plants that thrive two hours south will disappoint you here, so the palette is chosen for this climate.
An honest conversation. A high-maintenance planting scheme looks incredible for one season and rough by the third if nobody has time for it.
The process
Five stages. You approve at each one, and nothing gets built that you have not seen and signed off on.
We walk the property with you, take measurements, note grade and drainage, check sun exposure and listen to how you want to use the space. This visit is free and carries no obligation.

A plan showing zones, hard surfaces, planting areas and circulation. Deliberately loose at this stage so we can move big things cheaply, while it is still lines on paper.
Revised until it is right
Specific plants, sizes and quantities, plus stone, aggregate and edging selections. You see exactly what is going in and where, with substitutions discussed rather than sprung on you.
Specific plants, sizes and quantities
A clear quote, so you can build it all at once or stage it across seasons. A realistic timeline, including how long the property will be a worksite.
Phase it if you want
The plan carries straight into the build. Grading and drainage first, then hardscape, then soil and planting, then cleanup. Same phone number throughout.
Why one team matters
One team draws the plan and one team builds it. No handing your drawings to a contractor who has never seen the property, and nobody blaming the design when something does not fit.
The common way to do this is to pay a designer for drawings, then hand them to a contractor for a quote. It sounds sensible and it goes wrong constantly.
When the person drawing it also has to install it, you do not get plans that turn out to cost double or need a machine that cannot fit through the side gate.
If something does not work there is nobody to blame it on. One company, one quote, one phone number for the life of the project.
Every excavation reveals something. When the designer is standing there, a surprise is a five-minute conversation rather than a two-week change order.
A separate designer plus a contractor markup on unfamiliar drawings costs more than one team doing both. The design fee comes off the build if you proceed with us.

Questions
Yes. You own the plan you paid for. We would rather you did not, because the value of one team is that the designer has to live with the buildability of their own drawings, but we do not hold plans hostage.
Design usually takes two to four weeks including revision rounds. Installation runs anywhere from one week for a modest planting and patio job to six weeks or more for a full transformation with grading, retaining and hardscape. We give you a realistic window in the quote, not an optimistic one.
Design work is best done in winter or early spring, so installation can begin as soon as the ground allows. If you call in June for a summer build you are competing with everyone else who had the same thought. Fall is an excellent and underrated time to plant.
Yes, and many clients do. The important thing is that the whole plan exists first, so phase one does not have to be torn up to make phase three work.
We revise it. The concept stage is deliberately loose because moving things is cheap while it is still on paper. We would far rather redraw it three times than build something you are not happy with.

Native plants are best suited to local growing conditions and provide the most reliable resources for native pollinators. They offer high-quality nectar and pollen, support insect lifecycles, and rarely become invasive. Canadian columbine (Aquilegia canadensis), wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), and serviceberry (Amelanchier spp.) are just a few native species that attract diverse pollinators throughout the growing season.
Patios, walkways and retaining walls — usually the structural half of a design build.
