New builds with thin topsoil
Alton Village, The Orchard and newer Headon Forest lots are frequently finished with two inches of soil over compacted construction fill. Lawns struggle and beds fail until that is addressed.

What Burlington properties need
Burlington is not one landscape. An Alton Village new build and a Tyandaga property with mature trees have almost nothing in common.
Alton Village, The Orchard and newer Headon Forest lots are frequently finished with two inches of soil over compacted construction fill. Lawns struggle and beds fail until that is addressed.
Builder grading is done to pass inspection, not to move water well. Combined with Burlington clay, this is the most common reason we get drainage calls in newer areas.
Tyandaga, Brant Hills and older Port Nelson properties have significant canopy. Below four hours of sun no lawn will thicken, so the honest answer is often a shade bed rather than more sod.
Properties on the Brant Hills and Tyandaga side deal with real grade. Water arrives from uphill, which needs interception rather than just a drain at the low point.
Accumulation across Burlington is genuinely uneven. Routes are built around that rather than dispatching on a single citywide number.
Millcroft and downtown Burlington gardens are often twenty-five years old, with three plants thriving and a lot of dead space. Those beds want editing, not replacing.

Services in Burlington
The same standards across Burlington.
One team designs the plan and builds it. Grading and drainage are resolved inside the design, which matters on Burlington clay more than almost anywhere in Halton.

French drains, regrading, buried downspout leaders and dry wells. Our most-requested service in newer Burlington subdivisions, for exactly the grading reasons above.
Diagnosed before quoted
Patios, walkways, driveways, steps and retaining walls, built on a base deep enough for Ontario freeze-thaw. Retaining walls matter on the escarpment side of the city.
Base built in compacted lifts
Mowing on its own or mowing with garden maintenance.
Sod, overseeding, topdressing and core aeration. Aeration is the highest-value work on Burlington clay and the step most homeowners never take.
Automatic dispatch for driveways and walkways.
Seasonal flat rate
Why a tight radius
Most landscaping companies expand their service area to grow. We deliberately did not, and every operational advantage we have comes from that decision.
Short drives between properties mean a delay at one job does not cascade through the afternoon. This is the single biggest complaint about landscapers and it is a logistics problem.
Burlington clay, escarpment runoff, lake-effect snow, which neighbourhoods have thin builder topsoil. That is pattern recognition you only get by working the same ground repeatedly.
We work in the neighbourhoods where we live. A bad job in Millcroft is not an anonymous transaction, it is something your neighbour hears about.

Questions
Two reasons compounding. Burlington sits on heavy clay that drains very slowly, and subdivision grading is done to pass inspection rather than to move water well. Newer areas like Alton Village and The Orchard see this most, and on the escarpment side there is real slope sending runoff downhill onto properties.
Regularly. Brant Hills and Tyandaga properties often have real grade, which changes the approach: water needs intercepting uphill rather than collecting at the bottom, and retaining walls need proper drainage behind them because hydrostatic pressure is what pushes walls over.
